| silliness gacked from pipli The clip is from a German movie about Hitler, so if you understand German you might want to turn down the sound to keep from being distracted from the new subtitles which have been added. (From what I can tell, this clip has been resubtitled a whole bunch of times on every topic under the sun.) This version was lots of fun at nearly two in the morning, though, especially if you've been reading the rants that appear in comment sections throughout the internet every time the subject of the new movie gets raised. (Warning for them that cares: the language is *not* polite.) | |

| The internet has its wonders... I just came across a blog aimed at soldiers headed for Afghanistan here and I can't help but wonder how much of that would apply to Watson... Chai, certainly! | |

| The new Sherlock Holmes trailer has inspired some truly cracky fics, to which I now add my mite, inspired by janeturenne and Jude Law in that uniform thingie (see icon). Slashy, for them that minds... Silly, too. Per SuitThe brown suit disappears out of the wardrobe on Tuesday, and when it turns up again, it is ensconced in Mrs. Hudson's mending basket where it will stay until she can find matches ( for the one remaining button. ) | |

| 00:23-24 Looks like Holmes is running down a dark alleyway, but is that figure in the distance Watson? Sure looks like his big comfy coat. 00:39. Someone's tied up hanging by their hands behind that flame. Could be Watson, could be Irene Adler. Hard to tell. Don't think it's Holmes, though. 00:46/47 That blurry profile on the left. Definitely Watson. ( go ahead and laugh while I keep looking... ) | |

| Okay, Google's hosting a bunch of pictures from Life magazine -- but they've also got bunches of the Sidney Paget illustrations from Sherlock Holmes, and you can make the images really really big!*drool* | |

| I'm not sure how I feel about Robert Downey Jr. playing Sherlock Holmes in the upcoming movie. But I am rapidly becoming adapted to the idea of Jude Law as Watson.Oh, yes, indeed.Definitely.And to cap my day, metaquotes had great quote about the doctor and his friend. (The original post it links to is good too, it just isn't mostly about Sherlock Holmes Watson.) Who me? A Watson fan? Whatever gave you that idea? | |

| Oh, mah guh... On an impulse I ordered the Russian Sherlock Holmes, since they've put it out with English subtitles, and I'm dying... First of all, that is absolutely the cutest Watson I have ever seen. And second of all, well, let's just say that I'm going to have to watch these in small batches because I've already laughed myself into an asthma fit and Watson's only just moving into Baker Street! ETA: The one I'm working my way through can be bought here, and I have to say I was very pleased with how quickly my order was processed and sent. | |

| http://www.gutenberg.org/etext/14681A very old travellers advice book, which I think is going to become one of my favorite references for fantasy travel into wild country, despite its archaic attitudes. Well, maybe because of them. I keep reading and reading and trying to get my eyebrows down from out of my hair as I goggle at the next outrageous example of ethnocentrism or sexism. But it does make me want to play Castle Falkenstein again... | |
