May I plug deleting_my_lj again? It's very nice to be able to check for a quick note when someone just wants or needs to take a break from lj.

But obviously I was deluding myself. Thanks to everyone who mentioned "The River" or who has steered me to Samfic in the last day or so -- it's much appreciated. But I am sleepy now...

It has taken so long to skim through my flist that I don't have enough energy to go look at "The River" that everyone keeps mentioning... Maybe I'll save it for tomorrow night, when I will really need the Samfic...

For some reason this summer I've gone barefoot a lot. Indoors and out. Which has profited me, as tonight I managed to shatter the glass cover of a casserole dish and spray shards all over the kitchen floor. I've swept four times and I still keep finding bits with my tootsies. Fortunately, the calluses are so thick I'm noticing the bits by pressure, not actual damage.

But it does make me think about hobbit feet -- I mean, even if they've been toughened by years of no shoes, they must be sensitive to the different textures beneath them. And tough soles or no, it must still hurt to stub one of those toes...

*wanders off to do more cleaning*

I am avoiding working on the stuff I actually should be working on. Why do you ask?

What is this sleepiness thing and why is it transmissible via LJ?

Came home from work cranky and miserable, took a hot bath which helped and then succumbed to a two-hour nap attack. Woke up for an hour and managed to write one sentence and now I'm tempted to crawl back under the nice warm covers again.

Poor Bergil. It's gonna take him forever to go fetch that spoon unless I wake up in a fit of creativity at four a.m.

It is now 6:49. I just talked to UPS and this time she says they'll keep going right up until 11:59 to deliver on the right day.

I've been playing FotR and TTT as background since this morning, as I putz around waiting for the new one to arrive, and I keep being surprised by the scenes I usually flip past and amused by which scenes guarantee that I will drop whatever task I'm doing and go and watch the screen...

The nice lady at UPS says they deliver as late as 7.
