I can get up to level 50, but it's darn hard to stay there!

ETA: I have a few words where I'd dispute the definition... they've got one that's close, but definitely not a cigar, listed as the right definition. (Gramayre is not necromancy, thank you very much...) But on the whole it's quite enlightening.

what if
Over at [info]fanthropology they posted a link to a very random pairing generator. Here. Then they suggested that we defend some of the pairings we cam up with...

And I ended up drabbling...

Dr. Ian Malcolm (Jurassic Park) / Spock (Star Trek) )

Jane Drew (The Dark is Rising) / Qui-Gon Jinn (Star Wars) )
1st-Apr-2007 10:41 pm - Any Kakuro fans out there?
quest
I've been doing them as "Cross Sums" forever, and I've worked out a nifty little chart to help solve them, and I'll explain it if anyone's interested. I was going to send it to Will Shortz, and complain about how easy his book was, but the submission box wouldn't take my message. So there, bleah.

I am absolutely frantic and I have no clue why. Are there any memes running around you want me to do? Spam? Silly things that could serve as distractions?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZpTCLNfCvvg A surprisingly pretty version of Pachelbel's Canon in D (to listen to, anyway... *grin*)

I'll probably add more as I go along.
25th-Feb-2007 10:19 am - I think I have a new obsession.

And it's all [info]serai1's fault. She posted a couple of videos here and then figured out that the children were chanting "Pythagoras Switch". Then I searched the term at YouTube and found lots more gadgets. They're curiously soothing to watch.

Of course, having watched a bunch of gadgets I decided to click on the Algorithm March... The ninjas are a nice touch.

And then there's this.

*wanders off singing Japanese badly*

ETA: It appears to be a generic Youtube addiction. Found some Dave Allen too.

And another funny video. This one is [info]elendiari's fault.

quest
today is the last day of the diet... the last day I go without any kind of thyroid supplement... I slept nearly twelve hours last night, and I've already napped once and the hours stretch before me like... like... hours and hours and hours...

Spam me! I need things to do which require very few braincells, but kill a lot of time.
24th-Mar-2006 09:44 pm - Another good timewaster.

I average 110,000 or so. I have deliberately not looked at a map or an atlas since I started playing with it though, so I'm having to try to learn the location of some of the cities by hoping they'll turn up and I'll remember where I put them on the board.

What websites do you go to when you want to do something like work puzzles or play games or do anything but think about what you don't want to think about?

But only because I want everyone to be able to play.

Go here: http://trunks.secondfoundation.org/files/psychic.swf

If you can figure out why it works (I already have) and tell me in a comment how it works, then I'll write you a drabble. (Give me a clue about what you're interested in.) LotR, Sherlock Holmes, Emergency!, and Harry Potter, are all on my mind right now, but I'm willing to try other fandoms. Just if you've never seen me write in it, give me a LotR backup possibility.

I was wandering around the library today, and I paused to see what my little darlings were up to.

(Shirebound, no, just no...)

So, naturally, after watching this for a while I came home and found the site... and it does have some nice games, including battleship and beaverdive, which is not nearly as rude as it sounds and has a nice sort of calypso tune behind it...

p.s. I managed to propel the kitty 740 feet before it met it's doom. But only once.
